Aftershave Balm

A light, alcohol-free lotion balm that soothes and comforts skin after shaving. It absorbs quickly with no greasy finish, calms the look of redness and leaves skin feeling soft, refreshed and cared for.

Made with natural ingredients and free from parabens, it suits all skin types, including sensitive skin. Shaving around a beard? It is just as at home on a crisp neckline and cheek line as it is on a clean-shaven face.

Citrus & Wood, from our Elements collection, tweaked slightly for more tenacity and a longer-lasting finish. Bright lemon and bergamot open onto the soft, woody note of ho leaf, then settle into the warmth of frankincense and patchouli, inspired by the latest Element: Metal. Two woody amber aroma molecules round off the essential oils and help the scent last.

1. After shaving, rinse with cool water and pat your skin dry.
2. Warm a small amount between your fingertips. A little goes a long way.
3. Smooth over your face and neck, pressing gently into freshly shaved areas, including your neckline and cheek line if you keep a beard.
4. Use after every shave, or on non-shave days as a light, comforting moisturiser.

For external use only. Avoid the eye area. If you have sensitive skin, patch test before first use and stop using if any discomfort occurs.

Is the Elements Aftershave Balm alcohol-free?

Yes. It contains no drying alcohols such as ethanol or alcohol denat. You will see Cetyl Alcohol in the ingredients: this is a fatty alcohol that gives the balm its soft, creamy texture, and it behaves very differently from the alcohols used in many traditional aftershaves.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

It is made for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and is free from parabens and drying alcohols. Like every product scented with essential oils, it naturally contains fragrance components (Limonene, Linalool, Citral and Geraniol), which are listed in the ingredients. If you know you react to any of these, or your skin is easily upset, try the 5ml sample first and patch test on a small area.

Can I use it if I have a beard?

Yes, and it is ideal for anyone who shaves around a beard. Use it on your neckline and cheek line after tidying the edges to soothe freshly shaved skin. The light lotion texture absorbs quickly, so it will not leave your beard feeling greasy.

What is it made with?

The scent blends essential oils of Lemon, Bergamot, Ho Leaf, Frankincense and Patchouli with two woody amber aroma molecules (listed as Parfum) that give it depth and staying power. Grapeseed Oil and a coconut-derived emollient (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride) help skin feel soft and comfortable. What does Citrus & Wood smell like?

Bright and fresh to start, with lemon and bergamot, softened by the gentle woody note of ho leaf. It then settles into the warm, resinous depth of frankincense and patchouli, with a smooth woody amber finish. It is the signature scent of our Elements: Metal collection.

Is this the same as a post shave balm?

Yes. Aftershave balm and post shave balm are two names for the same kind of product: a soothing, moisturising balm applied after shaving. Our Elements Aftershave Balm was Commended for Excellence 2025 & 2026 in the Beauty Shortlist Awards.
